Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.
We had the amazing opportunity to visit Google Philippines at Bonifacio Global City. This trip was part of our department’s industry immersion program, giving us a real look at how a global tech company works and what it’s like inside.
We were welcomed by Atty. Yves Gonzalez, Google PH’s Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy. He shared with us how Google leads in innovation, how AI powers their products, and how they help make the internet safer and more accessible for Filipinos. We also learned about Google’s efforts in digital skills training and the importance of ethical tech in today’s world.
Atty. Gonzalez also talked about his own journey in tech, encouraging us to follow our passions and use our skills to make a difference. After the talk, we toured the Google office. The place was full of creative spaces, themed rooms, and cool amenities—showing us how Google supports both work and well-being.
For many of us, it was our first time seeing a big tech company up close. It was inspiring to see how Google blends technology, policy, and people-centered design. We left feeling motivated to dream bigger and to use what we learn to help shape the future of tech in the Philippines.
This visit was a big part of our journey as future developers and innovators. It showed us what’s possible when technology is used responsibly and creatively, and reminded us why real-world experiences matter in our education.
