We visited the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Mandaluyong City. Thanks to CXC and IBPAP, we got to see how a global development bank works and how IT is used to make a difference in Asia and the Pacific.

We started with a tour of the ADB Library and History Gallery, learning about ADB’s legacy and its impact on development. We also visited the Function Hall, where important meetings happen.

During the program, ADB leaders explained their mission and how they support growth and cooperation in the region. We also met the CXC team, who told us about global careers and how they help companies find and manage talent.

One of the highlights was a fireside chat with ADB’s IT directors. They shared their career stories and gave us advice on skills and working in international organizations. We also got to ask questions and learn about IT’s role in development work.

We were proud to present our project, RePay—a micro-lending app we built for our Software Engineering class. The ADB team liked our idea and talked with us about fintech and how tech can help communities.

We also learned about ADB’s Future IT Leaders Graduate Program, which helps young tech professionals grow their careers. Touring the ADB offices, we saw how they support their employees and create an inclusive work culture.

The visit ended with networking and closing remarks. We left inspired by what we saw and learned, and grateful for the chance to connect our classroom lessons with real-world IT and development work.
